Robin, digital producer

Creativity, passion, organisation… Discover with Robin what the job of Digital Producer is all about !

Can you describe your work at Neodigital?

As a digital producer within the agency, I make sure that the projects run smoothly. Like a conductor, I make sure that everyone follows their score in order to deliver a coherent rendering to the spectator, i.e. the client.

I create synergies between teams to meet and exceed customer requirements!

What’s a typical day like?

No two days are ever the same! I may find myself one day doing a production launch, so presenting the client with a pipeline, schedules, budgets… and the next day doing consulting missions, organizing creativity or inspiration meetings with the teams.

What do you like most about your job?

What I love about being a digital producer is working as a team and seeing projects emerge.

It’s great to be able to start from a basic idea, collaborate with the team, manage the different issues and then see the project in action!

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced?

We had a big virtual reality project with teams based in Brazil, Russia, Germany and the United States. The big challenge is to be able to communicate with everyone because there are cultural and linguistic differences. On top of that, you have to manage time differences: we had a gap of almost 12 hours difference!

What qualities do you need to do this job?

There are no secrets! You have to work, so the most important thing is motivation. You have to like working in a team, and given the different challenges, you also have to be able to withstand pressure, to be able to manage different stressful situations. So you have to have good listening and communication skills… So you have to be very organised!

Before coming to neodigital, what was your background (training and professional experience)?

I’m self-taught, and I’ve been practicing 3D and drawing since I was 11 years old.

I’ve practiced in different professions, from sound recording to video framing, from video game project management to the implementation of interactive scenography. So it’s very varied. I founded the neodigital agency with my brother a year after I graduated from high school.

I didn’t do any training to become a digital producer.

What school course(s) should I choose to do this job?

There is the 2IM training for example, or ISART digital, which trains to become a video producer. There are also slightly shorter training courses, for example at INA, which are also very qualitative and very formative.
